Citizant and Washington Consulting to Guide Acquisition of
Document Management Solution

CHANTILLY, Va., August 11, 2009 — Citizant, one of the Washington region’s leading providers of professional technical solutions and business services to the government, has been awarded a contract by the U.S. Department of Labor (DOL) to support the procurement of the Departments’ Document Management/Records Management (DM/RM) Solution. The contract has an estimated value of $3.5 million over three years if all options are exercised.

Under the contract, Citizant and partner Washington Consulting, Inc. (WCI), an Alion Company, will provide program management, acquisition, and enterprise content management subject matter expertise to help the DOL Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO) acquire and implement an enterprise-wide electronic content management system. This system will streamline document and records management within DOL, support more efficient business processes, provide comprehensive information faster and more reliably, and meet new Federal information archiving and retrieval requirements.

The Citizant-Washington Consulting team will support the entire acquisition life-cycle beginning with gathering and validating the technical, functional, and architecture requirements to support pre-solicitation activity, then guiding the solicitation and award process, and ultimately providing DM/RM program management and IT governance support post-award.

To guide DOL through these activities and ensure sound IT investment, the team will leverage DOL’s Capital Planning Investment Control (CPIC), Enterprise Architecture (EA), Security, and System Development Life Cycle Management (SDLCM) methodologies.

The ultimate goal of this initiative is the establishment of a unified document management and records management enterprise solution to deliver critical capabilities for records storage, management, and access for users across the DOL enterprise.
