NIH Awards Blanket Purchase Agreement (BPA) to Citizant

Company Wins Competitive Bid to Support NIH Information Sharing and
Collaboration Services

CHANTILLY, Va., March 25, 2009 — Citizant, one of the Washington region’s leading providers of government professional technical solutions, has been awarded a blanket purchase agreement (BPA) by the National Institutes of Health (NIH) for information sharing and collaboration services. The BPA, effective February 18, 2009, covers a one year period with no annual ceiling.

“Our company is committed to helping health organizations meet their mission requirements and the NIH BPA will be an important contractual vehicle for expanding our presence in this market segment,” said Alba M. Alemán, president and co-founder of Citizant. “We are honored that NIH has the confidence in our abilities to provide the information sharing and collaboration solutions needed to support its important role of guiding the country’s medical research efforts. We are well-equipped for the job given our expertise in this arena and our track record of working with federal agencies to deliver near-term business results.”

“Protecting the health of all Americans and providing essential human services, especially for those who are least able to help themselves, parallels our mission to help our government customers create a better future for all citizens,” concluded Alemán.

According to the terms of the BPA, NIH can access a complete catalog of services needed to facilitate greater knowledge sharing, expedite the translation of research results into knowledge, make high-quality information publicly available, and improve mission effectiveness. These services include Program Management, Enterprise Architecture, Service Oriented Architecture (SOA), Information Assurance, Data Quality Services, and Portal Development.

Citizant’s skill set and knowledgebase is aligned with the mission of the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) and its operating divisions, including NIH. Citizant successfully supports the Enterprise Architecture program for the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), providing program management, segment architecture development, and business process modeling (BPM) aligned with IT investment management. In fact, CMS’ Customer Service Segment Architecture, led by Citizant, is being closely monitored by HHS for use across the department. Citizant has also worked with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) to determine the specific data that is required when authorization is granted to importers wishing to import etiological agents into the U.S.

Additionally, Citizant professionals provide thought leadership across a seamless spectrum of information sharing and Web 2.0 collaboration programs at the Departments of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), Interior, and Transportation, the Internal Revenue Service (IRS), Customs and Border Protection (CBP), Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA), U.S. Navy, Federal Railroad Administration (FRA), and Federal Trade Commission (FTC).
