Accomplished Federal BD Executive Brings Stellar Credentials and Proven Track Record to Citizant
CHANTILLY, Va., Dec. 2, 2008 — Citizant, one of the Washington region’s leading providers of government professional technical solutions, today announced that Fiona Barshow has joined the company as Vice President of Business Development. In this capacity, Barshow is responsible for driving new sales and revenue growth across the Federal marketplace.
"We are excited to welcome Fiona to Citizant,” said Alba M. Alemán, president and co-founder of Citizant. “Fiona shares our philosophy that it’s all about delivering the best value to our customers and she works persistently to understand the customer’s challenges and business drivers. At Citizant, business development is a team sport – we have a collaborative and disciplined approach to successful business capture that allows our corporate development team to work and win as a group. Fiona is a stellar addition to this team; with her significant track record of success and her proven ability to deliver results, Fiona will be instrumental in achieving our business growth objectives.”
Barshow comes to Citizant from SRA International, where she contributed significantly to the company’s growth and financial performance. She was instrumental in helping establish SRA as one of the leading industry partners across the Department of Justice (DOJ) and extended justice/law enforcement community. Barshow managed an annual pipeline of more than $1.5 billion and partnered with delivery groups to pursue and win new business across multiple agencies.
During her five-year tenure with the company, she was instrumental in closing $500 million in new sales orders in new customer agencies including Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA); Office of Justice Programs (OJP); Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI); Justice Management Division (JMD); United States Trustees Program (USTP); and the Office of Personnel Management (OPM). She also spearheaded business development efforts to successfully pre-position, capture and leverage major agency-specific indefinite delivery indefinite quantity (IDIQ) contracts.
“As I was looking to take the next step in my career, I quickly realized Citizant had all of the attributes I sought – a reputation of excellence, a clearly articulated vision for growth, disciplined business development processes, and a passion for helping the government provide remarkable service,” commented Barshow. “I look forward to opening new doors and identifying opportunities that provide Citizant the opportunity to extend its impressive, 100-percent referenceable customer base.”
Previously, as a Business Development Manager with Pinkerton Computer Consultants, Inc. (PCCI) (now KForce Government Solutions), Barshow was instrumental in developing and capturing new business with first-time customers, developing strategic partnerships, and aligning the company with successful prime vendors for access to government-wide vehicles. Earlier in her career, Barshow served in multiple roles supporting Advanced Management Technology, Inc.’s (AMTI) business expansion in the federal government market and international aviation market.
Barshow is active in the Industry Advisory Council (IAC) and the Institute for Justice Information Systems (IJIS) and serves as a mentor in Women In Technology’s (WIT) Mentor Protégé Program. In 2007, Barshow participated as one of 16 industry representatives in the IAC Partners Program, an executive leadership program for rising stars in government and industry.
