Citizant Grows Award-Winning EA Practice with Contract from the
Federal Trade Commission
CHANTILLY, Va., January 29, 2008 — Citizant, one of the Washington region’s fastest-growing providers of government professional technical solutions, has been awarded a competitive contract by the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) to provide Enterprise Architecture (EA) consulting and management services. The contract has an estimated value of $2.2 million over four years if all options are exercised.
Under this contract, Citizant will oversee the entire EA lifecycle to align the requirements for existing and new IT assets with the business processes and technology services that support the FTC mission-critical services to the citizen. Citizant will design and implement an EA program with “fit for purpose” compliance processes; governance; performance measures aligned with strategic goals; ‘As-is’ and ‘To-be’ agency-wide architectures; transition and sequencing plans; and communication and collaboration plans for both the technical and business communities.
Citizant is currently focused on Phase I of the project, which includes evaluating the current architecture, defining the criteria for the introduction and modernization of IT solutions aligned with business needs and technical standards, and supporting the FTC’s upcoming Data Center Migration effort.
“We are pleased to be supporting the FTC throughout the entire EA process – this is a big win for us and a true testament to Citizant’s proven results in the EA arena,” said Alba M. Alemán, president of Citizant. "The FTC is a leader in using information systems to better and more effectively serve the citizen, as evidenced by the success of the National Do Not Call Registry Program. The FTC is continuing this commitment to citizen service by leveraging Citizant’s unique EA approach to modernize its IT infrastructure.”
Adel Harris, head of Citizant’s Enterprise Architecture Practice Area, will lead the FTC’s EA team. Ms. Harris is a certified Federal Enterprise Architect and a recognized thought-leader in practical information sharing solutions and Enterprise Architecture best practices that “connect the dots” between business mission and IT solutions.
In addition to Customs and Border Protection (CBP), Citizant counts the Federal Railroad Administration (FRA), Department of Interior (DOI), Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), and Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) among its EA successes.
