Citizant partnered with the Government Technology & Services Coalition (GTSC) to host IRS Day 2019 on May 8 in Arlington, Va.  This event helped increase transparency about IRS strategic priorities and goals and build collaborative partnerships with industry.

This event allowed industry representatives to hear directly from IRS leaders and learn about the agency’s critical programs and initiatives. Speakers at the event included Shanna Webbers, IRS Chief Procurement Officer; Eric Hylton, Deputy Chief, IRS Criminal Investigation; Kevin Bierschenk, Acting Director, IRS Investment and Portfolio Control and Oversight; Ramona C. Henby, Director, IRS Web Applications Program Management Office; and many others.

Citizant’s CEO, Alba Alemán, introduced the keynote speaker, the new IRS Commissioner, Charles P. “Chuck” Rettig.  Commissioner Rettig, who was confirmed to the post in September 2018, shared his thoughts about his new job and the challenges facing the IRS with the IRS and government contracting industry leaders present.

Alba’s introduction of Commissioner Rettig highlighted his leadership qualities and motivations exhibited during his 35 years of growing a successful law firm in Los Angeles.

Citizant has partnered with the IRS since 2001, supporting diverse business objectives including Enterprise Life Cycle optimization and coaching; Agile application development; DevOps & CI/CD pipeline automation; Tax Filing Season readiness assessments; and CMMI appraisals and process quality improvements.

Citizant will continue to work with GTSC and other industry organizations to strengthen relationships between the IRS and its industry partners.
